Bangalore: “Today co-education, free mingling of men and women and deteriorating family values have ruined our society. Muslim families are not spared either. The noble relation of couples which was intended for mutual contentment and coolness of eyes, now face tensions and discords due to our own misdoings. The menace of dowry, extravaganza in marriage expenses and domestic violence has disturbed our society a lot. It is high time that Muslim community wakeups to reform their relations for a healthy society” said Moulana Muhammad Rafeeq Qasmi, National Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind here in a special gathering of Ulama at BIFT organized by the Majlisul Ulama, Tehreek-e-Islami Hind, Bangalore Metro on 15 June 2013.

This programme was organized as a part of the 15-days long campaign organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka on ‘let’s make our homes Islamic’ during 14 and 28 June 2013. Addressing on the central theme of the campaign, Moulana called upon the Ulama to promote the necessity of shaping our families according to Qur’an and Sunnah among Muslims through their Friday sermons, public speeches and marriage ceremonies.

Sessions for mutual introduction and questions and answers were also held. Moulana Najmuddeen Husain Umri, state secretary, JIH Karnataka presented the inaugural words. The programme commenced with the recitation of Hafiz Shakeel Ahmed, Imam, Masjid-e-Abu Hurairah, B. K. Nagar. Moulana Abdus Sattar Hashmi, Khateeb-o-Imam, Masjid-e-Umar Farooq, M.S. Palya was the convenor for the programme. Moulana Waheeduddeen Khan Umri Madni, Convenor, Majlisul Ulama, Karnataka presented the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the dua of Moulana Abul Bayan Hammad Umri.
