Bangalore: Senior Rukn-e-Jamaat Janab Syed Shabbeer Ahmed passed away at the age of 85 after a prolonged illness here in the midnight today on 23rd January 2020. Born on 3rd April 1935, Janab Syed Shabbeer Ahmed spent a life of dedication towards the cause of the Islamic movement in Karnataka. He was associated with Jamaat since 1960. Became its member in 1966. He has served as the organiser (Nazim-e-Ilaqa) of Mysore for quite a long time in the past. He was elected the member of the supreme council of Jamaat (Majlis-e-Numayindagaan) for a period of more than 10 years. He has also served as the member of state advisory council (Rukn-e-Shoora) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka for over 20 years. He has played a constructive role in various fronts of Jamaat including Jamaat’s Kannada publication Shanti Prakashana in Mangalaore and Islamia Arabic College, Mansoora in Hassan. He was a very good speaker, a trainer and a hard worker of the Islamic Movement. He has also spent 21 months in Jail during the Emergency in India. He was running Allwel Advertising Company in Bangalore. Jamaat leaders have expressed deep sorrow on his demise and have prayed for his forgiveness and elevated ranks in Jannah.
