Ameer-e-Jamaat presides Masaajid Authorities’ Meet

20140903_204238Bangalore: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka conducted an intellectual meet with members and heads of various masjid committees of Bangalore at BIFT, Darussalaam on September 4.

Moulana Syed Jalauddin Umri, president of All India, JIH, presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Moulana Umri said that, the Prophet (S.A.W) taught us that Masjids are Allah’s houses and they have etiquettes and rules to be followed by Muslims. All the Masjids in the world are identical to the Holy Kaba in terms of respect. The committee leaders are trustworthy representatives of Masjids and they should work for the sake of Almighty Allah.

Moulana also said that nowadays, people are under the misconception that masjids are meant for obligatory prayers but during the prophets’ period, it had been used as a community and education centre. We need to bring back the earlier customs and practices to benefit the Muslim community.

He also appealed to the committee members to work with unity and create the masjid as a platform for the community people.

Mr. Atharullah Sharief, president of JIH, Karnataka also shared his views. He said that a library and baitul-maal should be constructed alongside the masjid, so that the underprivileged section can be benefitted.

Moulana Tahir Qasmi, Khateeb-o-Imaam of Masjid-e-Rizwan, Bangalore; Dr, Taha Mateen, convener of JIH, Bangalore Metro and Mr. Shaikh Haroon, assistant convener of  JIH, Bangalore Metro were present.
