Hassan/Hubli/Kalburgi: All India Ideal Teacher’s Association (AIITA) Karnataka Chapter has recently conducted three regional conferences in Kalburgi, Hubli and Hassan. More than 500 teachers including Members of State Advisory Council of AIITA, affiliated members and other teachers participated in these conferences.
Objectives of the conference were to discuss issues related with quality of education, personality development of teachers and also to explain about the campaign of AIITA which would be observed during 21-30 November 2015.
Janab Ahmed Siddiqui, National General Secretary of AIITA, had attended Kalburgi conference and explained the objectives of the campaign. He said campaign aims at bringing quality improvement in education system and empowering teachers to face the challenges.
Janab Syed Tanveer Ahmed, Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka Zone, explained the outlines of model education in Kalburgi and Hubli. He said the current education system prepares students for living but not for life.
The real objective of the education has been to prepare younger generation for life. He said “the education system in practice targets only mind but not soul”. He introduced Holistic approach of education in which importance is given equally to Heart and Mind. He explained following features of holistic approach of education:
- Values shall be core-curriculum.
- The primary education system shall be child centric.
- Education shall be based on potentials of students.
- Educators shall be Murrabbi (Mentor).
- Schools shall follow knowledge immersion technique.
- At primary level the assessment system shall be of formative but not summative.
Janab Tanveer also conducted a workshop on personality development.
Other speakers who spoke in the conferences were Janab Mukhtar Ahmed Kotwal, National Vice President, AIITA, Janab Muhammad Nizamuddin, State President, AIITA, Janab Muhammad Raza Manvi, State Secretary, AIITA, Moulana Faheemuddin Sahab and Janab Munawar Pasha Sahab, Principal, Mansoora Arabic College, Hassan.
