Mangalore: The Kannada translation of ‘Sahih Bukhari’, a book consisting on the narrations of Prophet Mohammedwas released in the town hall here on Friday, February 3. The book has been translated by M Sa’adullah.

Vice-president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Kerala Shiekh Mohammed Karakunnu released the book by handing over the first copy of it to president of BA group Ahmed Haji Mohiudeen.

Manager of Shanti Publications Mohammed Kunhi addressing the gathering explained the efforts of Shanti publications in creating awareness about Islam in the state. “We are trying to eliminate the misconceptions about several issues in Islam such as Jihad, polygamy and terrorism through our books. Only proper study of a religion can explain its importance,” he said.

A seminar on Islam was held during the occasion in which prominent speakers spoke on various subjects of Islam.

President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka Mohammed Abdullah Javed, principal of Iqra Arabic School Mohammed Salim Nadvi and president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Mangalore Saeed Ismail were among the present in the gathering.
