Davangere: 26, October 2014. The Masaajid Council Karnataka held a convention for the authorities of its affiliate mosques from across the state here in Masjid-e-Ma’moor today, which was attended by 136 representatives of around 60 mosques from the entire Karnataka. Janab Muhammad Atharullah Sharief, President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka presided over the function. The concept of an Ideal mosque, the role and responsibilities of the Imams and the masjid authorities in serving the community and shaping an Ideal society was discussed at length by Moulana Muzaffar Husain Shakeel Nadvi, Janab Mulla Liyaqath Ahmed, Janab Mahboob Aalam, Moulana Najmuddeen Husain Umri and Moulana Asrar Ahmed Umri. The participants shared their experiences, issues and solutions during the open session. The need to make mosques -the centers of Islamic activities was also brought to light.
