Bangalore: Noted orator and member Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Dr. Fouzia Sultana breathed her last in Sirsi on Monday 21 October 2013 11pm. She was 42 years old. Dr Sultana was suffering from cancer for last few years.

Dr. Sultana was a committee member of Jamaat’s national women’s wing and was also the president of FORWARD  Trust,  which is working exclusively on  women’s issue in the state.

She was extraordinarily interested in presenting Islam to all people and had practically engaged in conveying the message of Islam in Mat’s, Temples and Church’s.

Dr. Sultana, a scholar in Quranic studies, was proficient in delivering its discourse in Kannada language. She had also participated in several Kannada Radio and TV programmes.

Apart from authoring a book in Kannada and contributing articles to the various magazines, she had also addressed several conferences clarifying the misunderstanding about Islam and its stand on different issues.

Dr. Sultana in 1994 completed her graduation in Unani medicine at Bangalore and served as medical officer in government hospital. Despite suffering from cancer disease from several years, she never gave up her professional duty or the duty of spreading message of Islam. She was an iron lady having great patience in very difficult situations.

Fouzia left behind her husband Dr. Zainul Abideen, a member Jamaat and a son Faiz Ahmed, a student of 2nd PU.

Ameer e Jamaat Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri , Vice President Muhammad Jafar and former Ameer e Jamaat Maulana Muhammad Sirajul Hasan have condoled the death and prayed Almighty Allah to bless her with Jannah.

Muhammad Abdullah Javed President of JIH Karnataka along with his secretariat and Advisors  participated in Dr. Sultana’s funeral.

May Allah give the strength to the family members of Dr. Sultana to overcome the grief.
