Udupi: The Udupi District Unit of Jamaat e Islami Hind on Saturday organized an Eid-Get Together for the fellow-brethren at Shesha Shayana Auditorium, Udupi on 17 August 2013.

Speaking on the occasion, Janab Muhammad Kunhi, state secretary of JIH Karnataka said, “It is not the religion, but increasing religious wrangles and lack of religious consciousness are creating the conflicts in the society.”

Emphasizing on having more interactions and dialogues between different communities, he said that everyone has to respect each other and stop fighting. The hostility will only disturb the harmony, he said.

Gururaj Suvarna, Executive engineer of MESCOM-Udupi, H.C Mahadevappa, Executive engineer- Kundapur, Nagaraj Rao M, president of Electricity contractors association were the guests of honour.

Senior lineman Thomas Gomes, was honored at the occasion by the regional co-coordinator of the Jamaat, M Shabbir.

Jamath e Islami Hind Udupi District Unit member Anwar Ali welcomed the gathering. Udupi local unit president Mohammed Marakada delivered the vote of thanks. G M Shareef Hoode compeered the programme.
