Udupi: Let’s not dream for our children, instead we need to teach them to dream on their own, said Maryam Shaheera, faculty of Hira Women’s College, Mangalore.
She was addressing the gathering of parents and children in a concluding ceremony of annual children festival of Islamic Children Circle organized by the women’s wing of Jamaat e Islami Hind Udupi district on 18 April 2013.
The bringing up of children should be to please Allah; all the men and women should understand their role in this regard, she added.
Emphasizing on the importance of the religious education for children along-with modern education, another speaker- assistant editor of the Anupama women’s monthly -Sajida Momin said, “only such kind of education can ensure the principled generation in future.”
Children from different parts of the district performed a variety of cultural programmes.
District organizer of the children circle Baseera Iram, organizers of women’s wing – Noorunnisa, Tabassum, Shanaz Begum, Humaira, Sameena Shukoor and Nuzhat- were also present at the occasion.
Earlier, various games and competitions to promote the talents of children were held at Little Paradise School Maple.
