Jamaat holds Multilingual Workshop for Writers and Translators

Workshop PhotosBangalore: A two-days Multilingual state level workshop was conducted by the Dawah Wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka here on August 16 & 17, 2014 at Bangalore Islamic Foundation Trust’s auditorium hall. Around 85 writers and translators including women from across the state participated in the workshop. The objectives of the workshop included; Identifying and training potential writers in the movement cadre, explaining the current issues, needs & challenges in introducing Islamic Movement and providing technical and professional guidance for writing and translation.

The workshop started by the Qur’anic Discourse presented by Moulana Dr. Muhammad Raziul Islam Nadvi sb, Secretary, Tasneefi Academy, New Delhi. Dr. Belgami Muhammad Saad, State Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka welcomed the delegates and highlighted the objectives of the workshop in his inaugural talk. Dr. Hasan Raza, member, Central Advisory Council, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind presented a Keynote Address on “Introducing Islamic Movement today-Issues & Challenges”. A Symposium was held in the afternoon session on “Issues & Needs in light of Dawah Experience in Karnataka” which was addressed by Muhammad Kunhi, manager, Shanti Prakashana, Mangalore, Muhammad Ziaullah, Member JIH, and Jb. La’l Husain Kandgal, Kannada orator. The symposium was presided by Dr. Belgami sb. Moulana Raziul Islam Nadvi dealt in detail with the “Art of Writing & Translation-Guidance’’. Jb. D. Abdul Kareem from Mysore  spoke on “Translation Skills”.Br. Imran Pathan, Journalist, TEHELKA shared his experiences on “Article Writing”. Assignments 0f Translation, Article Writing and Letter to Editor were given to the delegates. Jb K.M.Ashraf, State Secretary, JIH Karnataka presented the summaries of speeches in Kannada. The first day was compered by Jb Laeequllah Khan, Media Incharge, JIH Karnataka.

The second day was initiated by the Hadith Discourse of Moulana Azharullah Khan Qasmi, Nazim-e-Ilaqa, JIH Mysore.  Jb S. Ameenul Hasan, member, Central Advisory Council, JIH spoke on “Study of Contemporary & Movement Literature” and on “Social Media-Introduction / Usage / Penetration”. Abdul Khadar Kukkila, Editor, Sanmarga and  Mrs. Shahnaz M., Editor, Anupama-Women’s Weekly spoke on “Our Media-Present Status & Future”. Meet the Experts session was addressed by Jb M. Sadullah, Jb P. Noor Muhammad, Moulana Raziul Islam Nadvi and Jb. D Abdul Kareem. Comments on given assignments were made by Dr. Muhammad Taha Mateen, M. Sadullah and Moulana Raziul Islam Nadvi. Jb. Syed Tanveer Ahmed gave a talk on “Media –Rapport / Presentation / Penetration”. Jb. K. M. Ashraf sb expressed his views on “Shanti Prakashana-Future Plan”. An Open Session was held before the close of the workshop for suggestions, future planning and other discussion. In the concluding session Dr. Hasan Raza sb gave a direction to the delegates with his “Take home Message” whereas Jb. Muhammad Atharullah Sharief, Ameer-e-Halqa, JIH Karnataka hoped a great contribution from the delegates in his Concluding Remarks. The second day programmes were compered by Jb. Muhammad Ziaullah, member, JIH Gulbarga.
