Udupi: A festival of talents -“Pearls of Islam” was organised by the Girls Islamic Organisation, Udupi District here on 7th February 2016 at Adi Udupi Higher Primary School. Competitions like Qirath, Nazm, Speech, Mehendi, Model Making, Best out of waste, Collage, Marketing, etc. were organised. Al-hamdulillah, More than 200 girls participated in the fest. The prize distribution programme was held on 13th February 2016 at Jamia Masjid, Udupi. Alhamdulillah!

The Vice president of Jamat e Islami hind, Women’s wing Asiya Sarif sahiba addressed the gathering and said “It is the responsibility of the Parents to train their children well, and to train them well we have to provide them with good and religious atmosphere” by quoting the verse of the Quran
“Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying], “Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home.”(13:24).

District Organizer of Jamat e Islami hind, Women’s Wing Udupi , Humera Khatoon sahiba beautifully explained why Muslim daughters should acquire education by quoting the verse of the Quran, “Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous”(96:3).Genral secretary of G.I.O karnataka Navida Husain Asadi sahiba in her presidential Address said, If we look at the present situation of our society, rate of crimes, evils, immorality and immodesty is increasing day by day. Our life’s have lost peace, satisfaction and tranquility. Quoting the verse of the Holy Quran ” And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me”( 51: 56). She said we will be able to achieve peace , satisfaction and tranquility only by submitting our will to The Creator. She also said G.I.O nourishes the talents of students and young women and to achieve this GIO is conducting various programs and this fest was one among them.

District organizer of G.I.O Udupi District Mariyam Asadi Sahiba and District organizer of Uttara Kannada District Athiyah Asadi sahiba were present during the ceremony. Fest aimed at upbringing the talents of Muslim girls by giving them a platform to exhibit their talents and to introduce G.I.O to them.Assistant District Organizer of Udupi district Suha Fathima was the convener of the event, all G.I.O cadre of Udupi district played an effective role in making this event a successful one.
