ASSAM RELIEF WORKS

Jammat-e-Islami Hind, Assam has Started Relief works in the ethnic and communal riot affected area of BTAD in Assam. Last July 2012 communal violence took place in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Baksa districts of newly created Bodoland Territorial Council, where as many as four lakhs of people has been Victimized out of them 80% are Muslims.

Jamaat has started Relief works divided the whole area in three zones and responsibility to the following person: –

1) Chirang and Baksa District – Saiful Islam Falahi,

2. Gushaigaon and Tamarhat Area: – Sofiur Rahman,

3. Bilashi Para Sub-Division and Dhubri District – Shofiqul Islam.

Jamaat has given special attention to do the following as an early basis:-

1)      Details Family Survey of the affected People.

2)      Camp and village survey.

3)      Provide First Aid Medical Treatment to the affected people.

4)      Relief materials to the affected people as per need.

5)      Legal Aid and counseling to the affected people.

6)      Moral teaching in the relief Camps for Child, women and men.

Ø  By the grace of Allah, jamaat Medical team has provided service the 24 relief Camps and done checkup of 3000 patient and given medicine to them.

Ø  Jamaat has provided Utensils, Mosquito net, Baby food, Food items, baby Cloths, Ifter Kits and Eid Kits to 15000 Families where approximately 75000 affected people benefited and 45 lacs rupees spent.

Ø  Counseling, Motivation, Legal works and survey is going on.
