Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Receives Book on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind as Part of the Seerat Campaign

Bengaluru, September 12, 2024 – As part of the ongoing Seerat campaign, Akbar Ali Udupi, the State Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today at Kaveri Bhavan, Bengaluru, to present him with the latest publication titled “Collection of Writings on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)”. The book, published by Shanti Prakashana, was well-received by the Chief Minister, who expressed his appreciation and support for the campaign.

During the meeting, Akbar Ali Udupi provided the Chief Minister with an overview of the various activities and outreach efforts being carried out under the *Seerat* campaign. This initiative aims to educate the people of Karnataka about the teachings and life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how they remain relevant in today’s world, especially within the context of modern India.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, while glancing through the book, expressed his happiness and commended the Jamaat for its ongoing efforts. He extended his best wishes for the success of the campaign, emphasizing the importance of spreading messages of peace, unity, and understanding across different sections of society.

Accompanying the Chief Minister were his Political Secretary, Nasir Ahmed, Senior IAS Officer L.K. Ateeq Ahmed, and Jamaat’s State Media Co-Secretary, Muhammad Talha, all of whom were present during the book presentation.

The Seerat campaign, organized annually by JIH Karnataka for the past decade, has become a notable event in the state, receiving widespread appreciation. Its primary focus is to reach individuals, influencers, celebrities, government officials, and politicians through books, pamphlets, and other educational materials on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). JIH Karnataka’s local units also organize corner meetings, symposiums, seminars, and digital outreach initiatives, including social media posts, short films, and reels, to further the campaign’s message.

This year’s theme, “Exalted Character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” highlights the virtues of compassion, honesty, and justice demonstrated by the Prophet, aiming to inspire individuals to embody these values in their daily lives. The campaign’s outreach extends across Karnataka, fostering dialogue on how the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) offer timeless guidance for both personal and societal well-being.

With growing support from various quarters, including prominent political and social leaders, the Seerat campaign continues to serve as a platform for promoting interfaith harmony and understanding in the diverse socio-cultural fabric of Karnataka.

JIH Karnataka has consistently used the Seerat campaign to reach out to a wide audience, fostering a greater understanding of Islamic teachings and their relevance to modern challenges. By focusing on peaceful coexistence and shared human values, the campaign has built bridges across different communities, contributing to Karnataka’s inclusive and harmonious environment.
