A great personality indeed. I have known Moulana Abdul Raqeeb Sahib since 1979 when I joined the Jamaat as a humble worker in Mysore. Whenever I had the occasion to meet him and associate with him in some work or the other in a minor capacity, he was always kind, helpful and encouraging. He never ever gave the impression that he was a great scholar and I was just a young grass-root level worker. I have learnt a lot from him particularly how to be humble in spite of gaining great heights in your life. It is a sorry state-of-affairs that people like him who had built and brought up the Jamaat to its present-day position of strength, are passing away one by one and there seem to be an acute shortage of persons who could take their place. Now is the time that the Jamaat should seriously think of training and grooming younger generation to the level and standards of persons like Moulana Abdul Raqeeb Sahib. May Allah guide us all in this endeavor and bestow us with a better substitute of Moulana Abdul Raqeeb Sahib. May Allah also forgive Moulana’s shortcomings and reward him with the best rewards for his good deeds. Amen! My heartfelt condolences to all fellow-workers of the Jamaat and the bereaved family.
