Bangalore: Moulana Abdur Raheem Faizi saheb, member of Jamaat e Islami Hind and Majlisul Ulama, Tehreek-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka passed away here in the evening on Friday, June 26 . Moulana aged about 85 years, was also the founder and rector for Jamia Azharul Uloom, Hegde Nagar, Bangalore. He has served as a Khateeb for a period of over 50 years in various mosques in Bangalore. Moulana Syed Jalaluddeen Umari, national president (Ameer) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has expressed his condolences and said that Moulana Faizi sb was a great Islamic scholar and a Dayee. Moulana was senior to Ameer-e-Jamaat in Jamia Darus Salaam Umarabad during his learning days. On hearing the news of Faizi saheb’s demise, Moulana Muhammad Sirajul Hasan, former president of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has also expressed his deep sorrow and prayed for his forgiveness from Allah. Moulana informed that he was in touch with Faizi saheb since 1959. Janab Muhammad Atharullah Shariff, state president, JIH Karnataka has also expressed his grief and said that Moulana was a strong soldier of the Islamic Movement. It was Moulana Abdur Raheem Faizi saheb, who defended Jamaat through forming public opinion against the restrictions imposed by the government long back and demanded to lift it without delay. All the Jamaat leaders have prayed that may Allah forgive his sins, elevate him in Jannatul Firdous and give patience to his friends and relatives. Aameen.

Faizi sahab used to Darse Quran after fajr in the same mosque which we used to attend and got to learn. One of the most learned Scholars of Bengaluru. In his passing away we have lost a great person. I remember he was close to my Dad too.
