JIH Nation wide Campaign on “Peace and Humanity”

August 25, 2016

Jamaat officials of Gulbarga region met Shiv Shankar Swami ji for the introduction of the nation wide campaign on “Peace and Humanity” and invited him for his contribution for the same. Swamiji said, “I cannot forget the contributions of Muslims”. Then he recalled one of the incidents:

In 1948, the conditions were the sulkiest. The army of Nizam and the army of India used to patrol this area. There was no trust among themselves. People rarely used to come out of their homes. During the same period of patrolling, one the well known Swamiji of Matth expired. As the situation was completely dangerous and people were scared, they never united to share their emotions. Our family was in complete dilemma, thinking about what can be done. A bunch of Muslims came to perform the final rites of the Swamiji. They collected all the required items from their family, and according to the Hindu tradition, they performed the final rites of the Swamiji. His procession was taken around the village by the Muslims before he was rested in peace. There was no one other than them and Swamiji’s relatives. Every single ritual was taken care by the Muslims.  Nizam Sarkar gifted two acres of land to the Shiv Shankar of Matth and offered bricks for construction. He continued by saying that, “Even today, many of the works in Matth is done by Muslims”. He promised that, I will walk along with you, will say what you say. I’m with Jamat, may Almighty make this campaign a successful one”.
