JIH Mangalore taluk conference held

Mangalore: The local unit of Jama’ath-e-Islami Hind organised its Mangalore taluk level conference on Friday evening April 21 at Kallapu near here under the theme ‘For a better state and better tomorrow’.

Two new Kannada books – ‘Moosa V/s Fir-aun’ and ‘Islam Nyaya Vyavasthe’ – were released on the occasion.

Inaugurating the conference, Waheeduddeen Khan Umari, State Convener, Majlis-e-Ulama, Karnataka, said that Islam is the only solutions to the problems of mankind.

He said that all the isms and systems in the world have failed to establish peace, justice and equality in this world except the religion of Islam.

Abdussalam Uppinangady, District Convener, JIH, DK, opined that the reason for the current pathetic situation of Muslims in India is that they have moved far away from the teachings of Islam.

“The Sachar Committee Report in 2006 exposed the pitiable condition of Indian Muslims, a community which ruled the Indian subcontinent around 800 years”, he said adding that the back-lagging of Muslims is a great loss not only for the country but also for the entire mankind.

Mariyam Shaheera, Lecturer, Women’s Islamic P U College, Thokkottu, who spoke on ‘Islamic family’, reminded the responsibilities of Muslim men and women.

Muhammad Kunnhi, State Joint Secretary, JIH, Karnataka explained about necessity and activities of JIH in India.

Khalid Moosa Nadvi from Calicut, spoke about the importance of ‘Zikr of Allah’.

Saeed Ismaeel, President, JIH, Mangalore, welcomed the gathering after delivering introductory remarks. Is’haq Puttur, Vice-President delivered the valedictory address.
