GIO – Organization of Islam Loving Girls

Bangalore: Girls’ Islamic Organization (GIO) is a state level body of girls and female students of Karnataka setup under the guidance of Jamaath-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Karnataka and Goa. For nearly a decade this was functioning as Women’s Wing of the JIH local unit.

It was in August 2008 that the GIO was established as a full-fledged state level organization.

According to GIO Bangalore Unit Chairperson sister Farah: The city has eight GIO units with 42 members and 60 associates. GIO has been established with the purpose of creating Islamic awareness, Islamic character and propagation spirit in girls and female students. This also serves the purpose of training best women members for the Islamic movement. The GIO is engaged in social service without bias to caste, creed, and religion. This is a cadre-based organization. Apart from members and associates, hundreds of well-wishers (other girls and female students) also cooperate in organizing its programmes.

Highlights of Programmes

Organized an introductory campaign on January 11 and 12 with one-day convention.

Six Islamic summer camps were organized during March and April. About a thousand girls were benefited by attending these camps.

Islamic Quiz Contests were organized in 15 schools last year. It is planned to organize these camps in 40 schools during this academic years.

Dawah camps were organized to create awareness about propagation and to train the participants in propagation work.

A three day state level campaign is proposed to the held during 18 to 20 June on the topic: “Enter into Islam completely.”

I am a story writer . I wanted to write a story based on Islam for moral purpose and for income purpose also. It is a story about a girl who dwells in UK, and does not know what is Islam being a muslim. and how she happens to come to india and how she learns Islam. this story has all the common incidents like affair, drinking, etc which is common in cities among muslims and how Quran changes her life and how she changes herself . This story is for everybody who lives in the cities and have forgot islamic trend and have adopted non islamic culture for whom the principles, ethics ,manners of islam does not matter, who think that these values are nothing and for those who don’t take it seriously. i want to disclose this moral story but i have no source. is their any possible way that i can bring it out through GIO any way? if so you can reply to my mail or contact me to this no:9902636198.

Mashaallah Sister, the concept of your story is very interesting and indeed the current situation that most of our Muslim sisters are facing. We ask Allah to grant you success in your efforts. Unfortunately, GIO does not have any magazine of its own yet and hence cannot help you to publish your article.

I am mooving to Bangalore next month inshaAllah and I would be interested to know if any job would be available for me with the muslim sisters of our umma. I work with different methods in order to decrease stress and to permit the patient to achieve their goals, of course knowing that Allah is repsonsible of the final result and that I am just the mean. I can help in different areas such as:
